Trafalgar Square in London

We have host-teachers throughout the UK, with most of our clients choosing to be accommodated in the London or Oxford areas or on the South Coast.

Compared to the USA and Canada, the UK is a very small country. With its smaller size and comprehensive public transportation system, exploring a large portion of the UK can be done so with ease. You will spend less time breezing through the country and more time immersing yourself in all of the sights along the way.

The country has an enormous history, as evidenced by the seemingly endless number of splendid castles, palaces, churches, galleries, and museums. Indeed, traveling through England is to journey through time as you progress from the ancient megaliths of Stonehenge to Runnymede, where the Magna Carta was sealed by King John of England in 1215. Then onto Shakespeare's Globe Theater for a night of Macbeth before taking in the view of London along the Thames river through the spectacle of the giant ferris wheel, the London Eye

While history pervades, the past twenty years has seen the rise of 'Cool Britania.' The Brit pop music of the nineties, Premier League football, celebrity chefs and most recently the 2012 Olympics have all added to a sense of renewed dynamism and vitality. The country revels in its heritage yet confidently faces the future. Throughout the UK, industrial areas have been regenerated to accommodate waterfront galleries, fashionable apartments, bars, restaurants, and some of the finest music venues in the world.

Despite a burgeoning population over the past century, the country is still a green and pleasant land with much of the stunning countryside relatively untouched by modernity. Whether you are ambling through the rolling hills of Oxfordshire before settling into a country pub, soaking up The Beatles memorabilia in Liverpool, taking in a cricket match in Cambridge or mixing with city-slickers during rush hour on the London Underground, there is something for everyone in the UK. It has an enduring universal appeal that one cannot help but appreciate.
